Robin Dog is reaching out to all Swiss municipalities: Working together to combat littering

In March 2026, Robin Dog took an important step:

We have contacted over 3,967 municipalities throughout Switzerland to work together to actively combat littering.

With this letter, we would like to invite municipalities to join a nationwide movement dedicated to promoting a clean, livable environment.

What this is specifically about:

Robin Dog encourages people to pick up litter while out for a walk—it’s that simple—and thus make a difference for the environment in their daily lives. The goal is to achieve a big impact together through many small actions.

In our letter, we suggested various ways for the municipalities to collaborate, including:

  • Supporting or organizing clean-up events

  • Communication through official municipal channels

  • Projects with schools and clubs

  • Pilot projects for particularly clean walking trails and natural areas

Another key component is raising public awareness. To this end, we have provided municipalities with a sample sticker that can be placed on trash cans or walking paths, for example, to draw attention to the issue of littering.

At the same time, we asked:

  • whether such awareness-raising measures can be officially supported

  • which places are suitable for this

  • and whether it is possible to collaborate with municipal maintenance depots or local agencies

In addition, we are working with local communities to explore ways to support projects in the areas of environmental protection and social engagement.

Our goal:
To build a nationwide network of Robin Dog partner communities that work together to promote cleanliness and responsibility in public spaces.

We are convinced:
When municipalities, residents, and community groups work together, many small contributions can come together to form a powerful movement.

We welcome all feedback, partnerships, and communities that join Robin Dog.
